5K Walk for Salk

Join the Salk Institute on Saturday, April 12, 2014 for a panoramic 5K walk followed by a day of scientific exploration rare behind-the-scenes tours of our labs, scientific talks and hands-on activities for children and adults. Your participation supports our leading-edge research and continues our important education outreach efforts throughout San Diego fostering the next generation of scientists.


Click here to download the walk route.>> The 5K walk for salk route is ADA and stroller friendly. No pets are allowed on Salk Institute grounds. Water and snacks will be provided at the start/finish and along the route.

Kids (Under 12): No Fees


Explore Salk

Salk's free community open house offers a behind-the-scenes experience at our world-renowned facility to explore the campus and our science labs. The day will include exclusive guided lab tours, interactive events, informational booths and scientific talks presented by our eminent investigators. The Salk Education Outreach Program will provide a family area offering hands-on activities for children and adults. Self-guided architectural tours of the Institute's iconic campus will also be available.
